Inauguration Day

I got an evite from a friend last week, inviting me to an inauguration day party, to drink obamimosas and watch the live telecast.  What a great idea!  I quickly checked my calendar and rsvp’ed.

The festivities started at 8:15; right after school drop-off.  People begin arriving, one by one, with breakfast treats in hand.  Our host, Sarah, greets and pours champagne. We gather around the television, some pull out laptops to twitter with others as the telecast begins.

There were tears, shouts of joy, cheers, and laughter, as we watch.  Oh, and there was also some great food!  Lemon bars, banana bread, zucchini bread, three different types of quiche, grapes, doughnut holes, and, my personal favorite (probably because I made them) , red, white, and blue scones, with strawberries and blueberries.
