And it has been for over five days now. I am grateful, that I do not have to water the garden or wash my car, and the air is cleaner. I don’t mind wet feet or being restricted to activities inside. In a way, it’s therapeutic, giving us a chance to spend time together at home over steaming bowls of soup. And it reminds me of home, and how much I miss Seattle.
Soon enough, the rains will subside and we will be back to the warmth of sunny days. And I can get back into the garden, planting spring crops and harvesting the salad garden my daughter’s class planted. But for now, I sit inside with a warm cup of tea, meditating on my plans for the future, as the rain pours from the gutters and pelts the roof above my head.
