Grand View Learning Garden-Havesting beets

Some months ago, we planted beets with the Kinder class.  Last week, they were ready for harvesting!!  We took the kids out to the garden and let them pull the beets, each taking turns.  I love the look on their faces, when they pull the vegetables out of the ground, realizing it’s food.  “Look at this one!”  “This one is just a baby!”

I took the beets home, cleaned them and cooked them for the kids to taste the following day.

As always, some kids were willing to try, others were not.  Some kids liked them so much, they had two or three!
