Sunday farmers market in Mar Vista

Today was such a bright sunny early spring day we decided to get outside and visit our neighborhood farmer’s market.   It was a busy day at the market, with music, Valentine activities, families, and lots of delicious locally-produced foods.

Headed to the left first, for a Homeboy pastry and cuppa joe from Venice Grind.  What a great combination!

Homeboy makes a damn good pastry!  Great addition to our Sunday market! Still need to check out their shop downtown…

Citrus, bright in the sunlight.

New goat cheese vendor.

Organic strawberries! Early in the season and already sweet and juicy!  Couldn’t find that in many other places in the US.

California dates, citrus, and aloe.

Oaxacan sweet drinks

ChocoVivo stone ground chocolates! Yum!

Had to treat myself for Valentine’s Day! Cherry, Almond, and Black peppercorns bar and a Caramel Sea Salt bar.  Maybe I’ll share with my husband, if he’s good:)

imageThe cutest little red peppers I’ve ever seen!  Had to buy a pound to roast up.

A generous woman from p.o.p Candy gave these candies to the kids.  My daughter also got a cute little shopping bag that tucks into itself, and looks like a berry.  Too cute! Love that p.o.p Candy!

Harry’s Honey-our favorite honey guy!  Delicious honey, sweet guy, and a great t-shirt design.  We have his t-shirt and sweatshirt, we like it that much! Always fun to stop by, say hi, and get a honey stick.

Man, we’re lucky to have such a great market just blocks from our house!  Mar Vista is a pretty great place to live!

I’m soooo jealous! Organic strawberries this time of year? Looks like a fabulous farmer’s market. We went to try to find a good farmer’s market in our area two weekends ago, and it’s mostly crafts….hardly any good produce! Bummer. Thanks for the pictures!
