Made in Walla Walla Box

Before we even moved to town, I knew I wanted to sign up for this “Made in Walla Walla Box”.  I read about it online, while searching for natural food stores, and was so excited to arrive and join the program.

Basically, it’s like a CSA(Community Supported Agriculture) farm box, where you get a share each week of what’s in season.  But even better than a standard share, the Made in Walla Walla Box includes your choice of eggs, raw or regular organic milk, artisan bread from the Walla Walla Bread Company, salad greens, grains, meat, fruits, and vegetables.  And everything is organic!

It’s a wonderful program, that supports local farmers, ranchers, and artisan bakers, while providing your family with a full box of  fresh local food to last you through the week.  In our home, we appreciate having a steady supply of fresh local organic food to fill our fridge with.  And it doesn’t require a run to the store or a trip to the farmers market.  Though we still hit up the farmers market for fun.

The Daily Market Co-op runs the Made in Walla Walla Box program and is in the midst of fall registration.  This season they are offering both full shares ($390 for 13 weeks) or half shares ($234 for 13 weeks). It’s a wonderful investment, for the health of your family, our community, and the planet.
